Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu orders a total evacuation of Gaza City as the Israeli government approves the plan to advance further into the city.“The ground incursion of our forces are now getting organized and gathering into Gaza City.” Netanyahu says in his speech.
Spokesperson Avichay Adraee for the Israel Defense Force directs the displaced residents to the overcrowded southern part of Gaza marked as a “humanitarian area.” Israel continues to send airstrikes in the area despite it being a designated humanitarian zone.. Residents in southern Gaza also struggle to find affordable housing in the already limited space. And the IPC reports a developing famine as hunger-related deaths are increasing.
The residents of Gaza have limited options as Israeli forces currently occupy 40% of the city and assigned “safe zones” make up less than 12% of the Gaza Strip.
This is a developing story.
